Diponegoro University Doctor of Law Program -Conduct the Dissertation Examination an.n Jefri Porkonanta Tarigan on December 28, 2022 at 09:00 -12:00. The dissertation examination took place in the seminar room for the Law Doctoral Program, Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University. Brother promovendus focused on the context of constitutional law with the dissertation title “Independence and Impartiality of Constitutional Justices in Trial Cases Reviewing the Constitutional Court Laws That Contains Conflict Of Interest”.
The exam was held in a hybrid manner with some testers using the zoom service and some testing directly. The examiner team for the dissertation exam consisted of Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum as Chair of the Session who was accompanied by Dr. Sukirno, S.H., M.Si as the Secretary of the session, Prof. Dr. R. Benny Riyanto, S.H., M.Hum, CN as Promoter, Dr. M. Ilham Hermawan, S.H., M.H. as Co-Promoter, Prof. Dr. Ni’matul Huda, S.H., M.Hum as External Examiner from the Islamic University of Indonesia, as well as Internal Examiners from Diponegoro University consisting of Dr. Lita Tyesta Addy Listya Wardhani, S.H., M.Hum and Dr. Ratna Herawati, S.H., M.H.
In this review, the promovendus looked at the issue of conflicts of interest and conflicts with the principle of nemo judex in causa sua and the principle of ius curia novit in judicial cases at the Constitutional Court and saw that there was a solution in handling cases related to the Constitutional Court more independently.
The exam lasted for three hours and Promovendus was able to defend his dissertation so that it was declared passed by the Board of Examiners and is entitled to hold the title of Doctor.
